Infrastructure should be a product, not a project
Most teams do not want to operate infrastructure. They want compute, a database, a queue, a model endpoint and a bill they can predict. Hostacker exists to package exactly that.
Thesis
Hostacker is a product layer over the infrastructure market
We do not need to own datacenters to give developers a coherent experience. What creates value is the layer above the metal: the product design, the automation, the billing, the safety rails and the operational judgment about where a workload should run.
So Hostacker sources capacity — compute, accelerators, model serving — and turns it into products with fixed names, fixed shapes and predictable prices. Customers interact with Hostacker. Provider selection is our operational concern, not theirs.
The same principle drives our interest in AI agents. If an agent can reason about infrastructure through a bounded, priced, auditable interface, provisioning stops being a specialist task. That is what Hostacker MCP is being built for.

Principles
What we optimise for
Four commitments that decide most of our product arguments before they start.
Packaged, not assembled
A product should arrive finished. Compute, networking, backups, TLS and monitoring belong together, not as eight decisions a customer has to research.
Honest pricing
Flat where flat is honest, metered where metering is honest. No egress traps and no line items that only appear once you are committed.
Built for automation
Dashboard, CLI, API and agent tools expose the same operations. Anything a human can do, a script or an agent can do under policy.
No lock-in by design
Standard operating systems, standard open-source applications, standard protocols. Your data and your workloads stay portable.
Roadmap
Where we are
Hostacker is early and says so. This is the honest state of the platform.
Phase 1
In progress
Product definition
Public product surface, pricing model, dashboard design and the Hostacker MCP concept, all validated as a working front end.
Phase 2
Next
Control plane
Hostacker Core API, provisioning engine, provider router, billing, real authentication and the MCP server.
Phase 3
Planned
Scale
More regions, reserved GPU capacity, team roles and compliance work for regulated customers.
